Peterborough Cathedral is delighted to announce that Lands Improvement have demonstrated their support for the Peterborough 900 campaign by becoming Silver Corporate Partners.
Lands Improvement is a strategic land development company operating throughout the UK which was originally formed in 1853.
The company acquires greenfield and brownfield land, priming the land for residential-led development by obtaining outline planning and delivering strategic infrastructure. The portfolio of landholdings consist of c.2,500 acres of land across the UK – a total of 26 assets at stages from planning promotion to land sales.
In 2013, they acquired the landmark old Peterborough District Hospital site, off Thorpe Road. Demolition and remediation works have now been completed across the majority of the 22 acre site. The site has permission for up to 350 high quality new homes which are now being delivered by Weston Homes and Kier Living, and will create a new gateway into the city.
Kevin Moriarty of Lands Improvement today said “We are delighted to be supporting the Cathedral and the City, through the Peterborough 900 Campaign. Our development of the former Peterborough District Hospital site includes the preservation of the buildings of historical importance on the site and we are well aware of the value of preserving Peterborough’s heritage.”
New recruits Lands Improvement join over 90 existing members, all of whom give their support in recognition of the Cathedral’s unique and iconic role at the heart of the city of Peterborough.
Corporate Partners can join at various levels and payment can be spread over four years, so the scheme is accessible to companies of all sizes. All Corporate Partners benefit from invitations to networking events and enjoy special rates for use of the Cathedral’s meeting and dining spaces.
The Acting Dean of Peterborough, Canon Jonathan Baker said, “We are delighted to welcome Lands Improvement as a new partner. Their development will sit at the heart of the City alongside this Cathedral, and we look forward to celebrating with them in 2018 as we both work towards making Peterborough an inspiring place for people to live and work.”
