The new Cathedral Visitor Centre, which opened on 10th September, took delivery of two sofas and a coffee table this morning (20th September), kindly donated by the Peterborough based furniture and carpet retailer, AHF.
AHF, who operate across England from their Peterborough base, signed up as a Platinum level Peterborough 900 Corporate Partner in June 2016. This means that they have made a substantial donation to help with the cost of Cathedral development projects, like the Visitor Centre, which mark its 900th anniversary in 2018.
As well as making a cash contribution, AHF also offered to help fit out the new Visitor Centre by providing sofas for the Palace View Room and the rest area on the first floor of the Centre. These spaces will be used by those booking the Room for meetings and training events, and also by volunteers who work at the Centre and in the Cathedral.
“We are delighted to be able to support the Cathedral’s Peterborough 900 Campaign,” said Matt Hesketh, Managing Director of AHF. “The Cathedral is at the heart of this city and it is exciting to see its plans coming to fruition for the benefit of all who live and work here.”
James Dyer, Peterborough 900 Campaign Manager said: “We are hugely grateful to AHF for supporting the Cathedral in this way. Matt Hesketh himself has already raised a considerable sum in sponsorship by abseiling down the side of the Cathedral earlier this summer. We look forward to working with him, and the rest of his team, as we head towards 2018.”
