Normal visiting hours

You are welcome to explore the Cathedral by yourself or book a tour with one of our trained guides to find out more about this history of this wonderful place. Normal visiting hours are:

Day Opening Time Closing Time
Monday-Saturday 9.00am 5.00pm
Sunday 12.00pm 3.00pm

All are welcome to attend services outside of these times, or to sit quietly whilst the service takes place.

Please note that the Cathedral is closed on Boxing Day, but re-opens on Tuesday 27th December.

Photography and filming

Anyone wishing to film or take photographs inside the Cathedral during their visit, for their own use, is asked to purchase a camera permit for £3.00.

Anyone wishing to film or take photographs for other reasons (including student projects, wedding photography, images to promote organisations and businesses, or images for public broadcast) is asked to read our Photography, Video and Filming Policy before their visit.

Making a donation

We are always grateful for any financial gift, no matter how large or small. Your support is greatly appreciated and goes a long way in helping us. If you are unable to make a donation during your visit but would still like to do so, there are three ways:

Give online: by following this link to the Peterborough Cathedral Virgin Money Giving page.

By text from your mobile phone: Text PBOR12 to 70070 plus the amount you would like to give.

By cheque payable to Peterborough Cathedral: post this to The Cathedral Office, Minster Precincts, Peterborough PE1 1XS. It helps us a great deal if you include a Gift Aid declaration with your donation if you are a UK tax payer.
