9.00am - 5.00pm

12.00pm - 3.00pm

On the third Saturday of the month at 5.30pm (except for August and December) the Cathedral hosts a reflective service in the style of the ecumenical Taizé community in France. The worship incorporates distinctive musical chants, periods of silence and the opportunity to receive the ministry of laying on of hands with prayers for healing.

The Taizé style of worship is an opportunity to seek communion with God in prayer, singing, silence and reflection.  It seeks to offer people the rediscovery of an inner peace, reminding us that Christ is waiting for us in our day-to-day lives. The Brothers of the Taizé community are inspired by two aims: to live in communion with God through prayer and to be a leaven of peace and trust in the midst of the human family.

The service is held by candlelight in the ‘New Building’ at the east end of the Cathedral.
