Fifteen year old cellist Nathaniel Watson, accompanied by Philip Mead, will be performing music by Rachmaninov, Moeran and Tchaikovsky .

Rachmaninov   Sonata for Cello in G minor, Op 19

Moeran   Prelude for Cello and Piano

Tchaikovsky   Lensky's Aria from Eugene Onegin

Musicians

Nathaniel has been playing the cello since he was 6. He was a member of the National Children's Orchestra for 5 years and spent a year with the Britten Sinfonia Academy as well as playing with Cambridge Holiday Orchestra. He was awarded a Music Scholarship to Eton College to study cello with Sue Lowe where he recently won the Junior Strings Competition with a performance of Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations. He has had masterclasses with leading cellists including Raphael Wallfisch, Louise Hopkins, Sandy Baillie and Adrian Brendel and has performed locally at St Peter's Church, Oundle and All Saints Church, Fotheringhay.

The accompanist will be Philip Mead.

The Wednesday lunchtime recitals are free of charge, but donations are invited so that the concert series can continue into the future.
