An exhibition of art and craft works made by adult students at Peterborough City College.
This exhibition celebrates the talent of the learners of the City College Brook Street campus. It showcases project work in oil painting, pottery and printmaking from the last eighteen months. The disciplines on display range from decorative sculpture, tableware, gift ideas, through to larger canvases.
Learners both new and existing are included in the exhibition and tutors help to develop the unique style of each learner by individual tutorials in a classroom environment which allow such varied outcomes as you will see here.
The learners have a broad age range, including those who are working or retired, and those who have been creating for anything from a couple of months through to sixty years. Many of our artists sell their work professionally, are practitioners exhibiting elsewhere throughout the year and are national award winners. Others may be studying for fun, or taking part in the NCFE qualification, a nationally recognised award in the Arts and Crafts arena. The college also works closely with Peterborough Artists Open Studios, with learners of the college and external artists exhibiting in the exhibition hall through the summer.
Tutors Jonty Meyer and Becky Toughill said: "We would like to say a special thank you to the learners for their continued commitment to the courses, and the inexhaustible enthusiasm for artistic investigation that every artist brings to the college. This exhibition is a celebration of your hard work, personal journeys and your passion."
To our visitors, we dearly hope you enjoy viewing the exhibition, as we have enjoyed producing it and sharing it with you.
The exhibition is open during normal Cathedral Visitor Centre opening times: 10.00am until 5.00pm, Monday to Saturday, 11.00am until 4.00pm on Sundays. Admission is free (donations welcome).
